Operations - Assistant Manager
Position
To ensure seamless hospital operations by overseeing OPD, IPD, patient services, admissions, billing, and administrative coordination while maintaining high standards of patient care, efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Experience
- Promote patient-centric culture with empathy and responsiveness.
- Address patient grievances and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor patient satisfaction scores and implement improvement initiatives.
- OPD & IPD Operations Management
- Oversee smooth functioning of OPD and IPD services.
- Monitor patient flow to reduce waiting time and improve service efficiency.
- Coordinate with consultants, nursing, and support teams for seamless care delivery.
- Admissions & Discharge Management
- Supervise admission process ensuring timely room allocation and documentation.
- Ensure smooth and error-free discharge procedures.
- Monitor discharge TAT and improve patient exit experience.
- Bed Management & Utilization
- Track bed occupancy rates and optimize allocation.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and nursing for quick bed turnover.
- Maintain real-time bed status reporting.
- Billing & Front Office Oversight
- Supervise billing operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor cash handling, insurance processing, and TPA coordination.
- Ensure professional front office conduct and service standards.
- Duty Roster & Workforce Management
- Prepare and manage duty rosters for operational staff.
- Ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
- Coordinate with HR for leave planning and manpower allocation.
- Interdepartmental Coordination
- Act as liaison between medical, nursing, diagnostics, pharmacy, and administration teams.
- Ensure smooth communication and operational alignment.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to NABH and hospital policies, by maintaining compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Proactively identify risks and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare daily MIS reports on occupancy, revenue, patient flow, and complaints.
- Track KPIs and recommend operational improvements.
- Emergency & Crisis Handling
- Manage operational challenges during emergencies.
- Ensure smooth coordination during high patient influx situations.
Qualification
- MBA or MHA degree
- Experience managing and leading teams effectively
- 5 - 10 years of experience in hospital operations or healthcare management.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operational areas
- Healthcare, Airline or Hospitality industry background preferred
