Application Support Engineer
You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting critical hospital applications such as HIS (Hospital Information System), PACS, LIS, EMR, and ERP while ensuring the smooth operation of servers, networks, and IT security. You will also provide technical support to hospital staff, ensure compliance with healthcare IT regulations, and drive IT projects that enhance hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Support
- Provide first and second-level support for HIS, PACS, LIS, EMR, and other healthcare applications.
- Troubleshoot software issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with vendors for resolution.
- Assist in application deployment, updates, and patches while ensuring smooth rollouts.
- Conduct system testing and validate updates before deployment.
- Document issues, solutions, and system configurations for future reference.
- System Administration & IT Infrastructure
- Manage and monitor hospital servers, databases, and networks.
- Maintain and administer Active Directory, firewalls, VPNs, and other security controls.
- Implement IT policies, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure system security, performance, and compliance with hospital IT standards.
- Monitor system health, conduct preventive maintenance, and optimize performance.
- User Support & Training
- Provide technical support to hospital staff for application-related issues.
- Assist in user account management and access control.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on application usage and best practices.
- Respond to IT helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution.
- Integration & Compliance
- Coordinate with software vendors for integration with third-party systems.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, HIPAA, and other healthcare IT regulations.
- Support IT audits, security assessments, and data protection initiatives.
- IT Project Management & Implementation
- Assist in IT system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
- Work closely with different hospital departments to understand and address their IT needs.
- Drive adoption of new healthcare applications and technologies.
- B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / B.Sc (IT) or a relevant field.
- 2-5 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setup.
- Knowledge of HIS, PACS, LIS, EMR, and ERP applications.
- Experience in Windows/Linux server administration.
- Strong understanding of networking, Active Directory, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL, Oracle).
